4. Pastime
After a long
drive an automobile needs fuel for regaining power and speed , the same we find
when a human being needs pastime after a day’s hard work . Pastime is leisure
activity that is done for enjoyment rather than work . Some like pastime inside
the four walls of the house . Again some go out of the house for pastime . Many
pastimes around the world are common . Some of these common pastimes are
watching television , reading newspaper, reading books , listening to music,
gardening , walking , gossiping , fishing and going to picnics . On the other
hand , some pastime are not common to people such as hunting , bird watching ,
oregamy , camping , painting pictures and writing poems . Some pastimes are for
the young only. For example martial arts , skiing , skateboarding ,
snowboarding , baseball and football are remarkable. Pastimes like golf ,
tennis , fishing , boating , walking and hiking are for both the young and the
old . Besides traveling , going to parks , visiting family and friends ,
watching television are very popular. Pastime varies country- to- country as
well as age-to-age . In our country the city people are more fortunate to enjoy
different types of pastimes than the village people .To make life meaningful
and to remove monotony , pastime can work as a life tonic in our life.
