2.Bangladesh
Rhetorically (কায়দা
করে বলতে গেলে) Bangladesh is situated in my heart but geographically
(ভৌগোলিকভাবে)
it
is in south- east Asia. The country got her freedom from Pakistan in 1971 after
a long bloody (রক্তাক্ত) Liberation
War (স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ). The people
of Bangladesh fought (যুদ্ধ করেছিল) the
Liberation War unitedly (মিলিতভাবে). About 30
lakh people sacrificed their lives to achieve freedom. There are different
religions in Bangladesh. Among them, Islam is the main religion and so it is
the state religion (রাষ্ট্র ধর্ম). Besides,
there are Hindu, Bouddha and Christian religions. People from different
religions live here harmoniously (মিলেমিশে). They follow
some common customs and traditions. Traditionally (ঐতিহ্যগতভাবে) Bangladeshis
are hospitable (অতিথি পরায়ণ) and simple-
minded (সরলমনা). They are
never unwilling (অনিচ্ছুক) to
entertain a guest. Polygamy (বহুবিবাহ) was the common
form (প্রচলিত রূপ) of marriage
in the past. But monogamy (এক
বিবাহ) is common at
present. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. The country has a rich
tradition (সমৃদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য) of handicraft (হস্তশিল্প) and cottage
industries (কুটির শিল্প). The
traditional songs are Jari, Shari, Palligiti. Longyi for men and sari for women
are the common dress. People mainly speak Bangla but English is the second
language. Elderly persons (বয়স্ক লোকেরা) are
respected in the society. Religious values (ধর্মীয়
মূল্যবোধ) are established. In Bangladesh there are many historically (ঐতিহাসিকভাবে) and
naturally important places. Places like Paharpur, Mahasthangarh, Mainamati and
other historical relics (ঐতিহাসিক
নিদর্শন) give evidence (প্রমাণ) to our glorious
past (গৌরবময় অতীত). Naturally
important places like Cox’s Bazar, Kuakata, saint Martin and the Sunderbans uphold (তুলে ধরে ) the beauty
of Bangladesh. I hope that Bangladesh, a beautiful baby of nature (প্রকৃতির সুন্দর শিশু) on the Bay
of Bangal (বঙ্গোপসাগরের কোলে), will
remain forever (চিরকালের জন্য থেকে যাবে).
