16. Gender Discrimination
Civilization leads us to
advancement. In a civilized world, gender discrimination is against this
advancement. Gender discrimination means the inequality বৈষম্য)between
men and women. It is very common in the developing countries. As Bangladesh is
a developing country, it faces this disparity almost everywhere. Poverty,
illiteracy and superstitions (কুসংস্কার) encourage
this social injustice. There are many families in Bangladesh where boys and
girls are not treated equally. I have seen gender disparity in a family. The
family is situated in our locality. The elderly persons treat their girls
badly. The girls have no right to raise their voice. The law of our country is
against this disparity. But still there is disparity. I have also experienced
disparity in my family. In my family our sisters do not get their proper rights
.I feel boys and girls are equal .Because both of them are the creation of God
.So they should get equal rights .We live in a modern age .We want to keep pace
with the modern world .In order to achieve this goal লক্ষ্য,we
must remove gender discrimination .
