A book fair is a fair where books are for sale and show. It is a very popular fair. It is a great festival to the book lovers. In our country it is generally held in January and February. Though it is held in almost every city, the largest book fair is held at Bangla Academy in Dhaka. It is held on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. A book fair helps to create new writers and readers. It inspires people to form the habit of reading. A book fair bears the national culture of a country. It reminds us that books are our best companions. Last year I visited the book fair at Bangla Academy. It was a great experience for me. I saw a vast area full of so many book lovers. There were hundreds of book stalls. I saw famous poets and writers. I met one of my favourite writers in a book stall. I bought some books written by my favourite writer. I took his autograph. I was very excited with joy. Though I got much pleasure, I noticed some mismanagement there. I think the place of fair should be more spacious. Security measures should be strict. The law enforcing agencies must be alert. Seminars and cultural programs should be arranged. Books should be sold at a cheap price so that the book lovers can buy their favourite books easily.
