The prices of day-to-day commodities পণ্য are rising rapidly. All previous records of price hike have been broken. Rice, fish, meat, chicken, oil, wheat-meal and vegetables are being sold at a high price. As a result, it hits the common people seriously.

While interviewing the common people, this reporter found a frustration among the common people. Different steps taken by the government are not working on the price hike.

Visiting different markets, this reporter noticed that the prices of sugar, onion, garlic and oils are rising rapidly. The prices of different kinds of rice are beyond the reach of common people. They can not buy fishes, meat and chicken.

There are many reasons behind this price hike. Generally it occurs if the demand is greater than supply. Sometimes hoarders মজুদদার hoard মজুদ করে necessary goods to create artificial crisis. Besides, a syndicate of dishonest businessmen creates price hike for quick profit.

The general people hope that the government must take necessary steps to control price. It is important to note that the present government vowed কথা দিয়েছিল to control price hike in their election manifesto নির্বাচনী ঘোষণা. So it is the demand of the general people that the government must act wisely in this regard.
