Ban on private Coaching

It
is noted that the government has imposed a ban on private coaching outside the
classroom by school and college teachers. It is hoped that the High Court
directive in this respect will be implemented without further delay. It is a
common allegation that most of the teachers are involved in private tuition.
Mostly
English and Math teachers and a few science teachers are involved in private
coaching. Of course, some teachers of other subjects are also involved in
private coaching. But they are very few in number. It is often said that
teachers do not teach properly in the classroom.
But
the fact is that the students knock the doors of those teachers who teach well
in the classroom. A student never goes to a teacher for private coaching who
does not teach well in the classroom. Another complaint against the teachers is
that most of them are under-qualified.
Talking
to some of the teachers from school and colleges, it is found that teachers are
ill paid. Most of the teachers live a below –standard life. Especially non –
government teachers live very hard life. To maintain their family, some of them
are involved in private coaching. They say that private coaching is not at all
a matter of pleasure. No teacher will be involved in this if he is provided
with proper salary.
