11.    Write a report on Fire on a Garments Factory.

Fire on a Garment Factory

Yesterday a garment factory at Mirpur caught fire. The name of the factory is Rose Garment Factory. It is situated in a five-storey building. Smoke spread the whole area as fire engulfed (গ্রাস করা) the building. Panicky (ভয়ার্ত) workers of the garment factory tried to come out of the building. They rushed (ছুটে যাওয়া) to the gate but the gate was locked.

Getting the news of fire, the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot. They tried hard to extinguish (নিভানো) fire. Besides, people from all walks of life came forward to help the firemen. After three hours of hard working the firemen brought the fire under control.

According to the sources of the Fire Brigade, ten workers of the garment factory were killed and twenty others were injured.

Most of them were trampled while rushing towards the gate. The dead were sent to the morgue and the injured were sent to the local hospital.

The cause of the fire could be known. It was suspected that the fire could be caused from short- circuit. A committee for investigation was formed to find out the cause of the fire. Besides, the local police has filed a case.
